Unlike the big projects like motorways and road sections, the projects under PHARE Economic and Social Cohesion are within 10 000 – 100 000 euro, but it is exactly they that reach most directly the ordinary citizen and “the battle”, which we fight is exactly for this kind of projects. This was announced by the Regional Development and Public Works Minister Valentin Cerovski in Stara Zagora, where he opened a new workshop of the company Zahara LTD. It is equipped with machines, which are bought with funds under a PHARE project. Zahara LTD dealing with pastry production is the first company that has already bought equipment, out of 89 companies, which have received grant for the project Technological Scheme for Grant Aid for Small and Medium Enterprises. The project is at the total amount of 3,435 MEURO, and the amount for Zahara LTD is 100 672 euro including 50 000 euro under PHARE and national co-financing. The managing director of Zahara LTD Zheko Petrov emphasized the fruitful work with the team of PHARE Programme at the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, owing to which the project has been successfully implemented. We are very glad that other representatives of the business in Stara Zagora will also benefit from the resources by the pre-accession funds, stated Maria Neikova, the district governor of Stara Zagora. Besides Zahara LTD, another 4 out of the 89 companies, which have received the grant, work on the territory of the region of Stara Zagora. The mayor of Stara Zagora added that this fact proves the quality of the work and the potential of the local companies, and underlined that the MRDPW experts also have merit for the success due to their professional work. After the ceremony at the new workshop of Zahara LTD, Minister Valentin Cerovski visited the Vocational High School of Construction, Architecture and Geodesy, and talked with teachers and school leavers.
