The Regional Development and Public Works Minister Valentin Cerovski will make an official visit to the Czech Republic on 15 February 2004. The visit is by invitation of Mr. Pavel Nemec, the Regional Development Minister. The programme of Minister Valentin Cerovski also includes meetings with the Czech Republic Transport Minister Mr. Milan Shimonovsky, with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Regional Development, Local Self-government and Environment, with representatives of local authorities, as well as visits of infrastructural sites in the country. The topics of discussion will be the regional development policy, the absorption of the EU pre-accession funds and the experience of the Czech Republic in that sphere, the governance decentralization and the role of the local authorities for sustainable and balanced territorial development, private capital entering the water and transport sector and the public–private partnership related to the construction of the technical infrastructure in both countries.
