The Regional Development and Public Works Minister Valentin Cerovski met with representatives of leading companies and talked with them about the construction of the oil pipelines Bourgas-Alexandrupolis and Bourgas-Vlora. The meeting was held on 14 June 2004. It was attended by the Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha, the Deputy Prime Minister Plamen Panayotov and representatives of the companies: Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA); ILF Consulting Engineers; Unocal Corporation; Chevron Texaco; KazMunayGas; Tsakos Shipping and Trading; Ferrostaal AG; Lukoil – Russia; Lukoil – Bulgaria; Latsis Group; Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meahger & Flom; Shell Exploration and Production; TNK-BP; Frontier Ltd. and Technoexportstroy Ltd. The meeting also discussed on Bulgaria’s proposal for construction of a unified entrance infrastructure of the oil pipelines Bourgas-Alexandrupolis and Bourgas-Vlora. Thus Bulgaria will actively support the pipelines. The idea met with approval from the representatives of the companies participating in the discussion. This meeting is one more step forward in the development of the projects. The interest of the participants in the implementation of the oil pipelines and in Bulgaria’s proposal proves the role which our country can play in oil transportation, announced Minister Valentin Cerovski.
