The project Road Access to Tourism Sites was successfully contracted and has already reached an implementation stage owing to the highly ambitious and young team of the PHARE Implementing Agency of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works /MRDPW/ and the assistance of the experts of the EC Delegation to Bulgaria. This was announced by the Regional Development and Public Minister Valentin Cerovski at the official ceremony for the start of the construction works on the projects, which was held at the mouth of the river Kamchia. At the symbolic first sod of Lot 4 encompassing rehabilitation of road sections in the districts of Varna, Dobrich and Silistra were present the district governors of Varna and Dobrich Yani Yanev and Ivan Ivanov, mayors from the region and other official guests. Besides the start of this section, the project is also under way in the municipalities of Balchik and Kavarna, underlined the District Governor of Dobrich Ivan Ivanov. Lot 4 includes six road sections in the districts of Varna, Dobrich and Silistra. A contract for the implementation of the construction works has been signed with the consortium Glavbolgarstroy – Dobrich – Varna with their leader being Glavbolgarstroy AD and partners – Roads and Bridges EOOD – Varna and Road Construction AD – Dobrich. The contract is at the total amount of 4 174 500 еurо. The project Road Access to Tourism Sites is funded under PHARE – Economic and Social Cohesion, Financial Memorandum 2001. The project envisages the rehabilitation of 21 road sections at the total length of 146 km, divided into 4 lots – two for the North Eastern Region and two for the South Central Planning Region. The construction works and the supervision amount to 15 331 043 еurо. The supervision of all four lots is carried out by the Spanish company Tipsa in partnership with the Bulgarian company Controls АD, аnd the contract with them is worth 1 061 843 eurо. We are convinced that with the joint efforts of the Contractor, of our construction supervision association and the MRDPW will succeed in implementing the project within the specified term, with the necessary quality and within the envisaged budget, announced the official representative of Tipsa Horhe Gonzales.
