The call for proposals for the construction of green infrastructure under the Interreg Bulgaria - North Macedonia Programme 2021-2027 is now open

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has opened the call for proposals under Priority 1 of the Bulgaria-North Macedonia Cross-border Programme. It is worth EUR 4.5 million and is aimed at investments in nature conservation, biodiversity, green infrastructure and pollution reduction. The projects should be in the field of green infrastructure development in urban and peri-urban areas.

Among the eligible activities are various types of landscaping - of buildings, alleys, parks, gardens, inter-block spaces and the formation of “green” noise barriers. It will also support the development of new tools in biodiversity conservation and the exchange of experience between stakeholders in this field.

Applicants can be public or non-governmental organizations, as well as universities, academic, educational and training institutions from the districts of Kyustendil and Blagoevgrad and from the Northeastern, Eastern and Southeastern Planning Regions of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The deadline for submission of project proposals is 15 September 2023.

An information campaign will be conducted for the candidates in Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia. The dates and locations of the events will be announced on the programme website: www.ipa-cbc-007.eu.
