On 25 May 2004, Tuesday, the Regional Development and Public Works Minister Valentin Cerovski will visit Stara Zagora, where he will open a new workshop of the company Zahara LTD and will meet with teachers and students from the Vocational High School of Construction, Architecture and Geodesy. The company Zahara – Stara Zagora deals with pastry production and trade. This is one of the 89 Bulgarian companies, which have received grant for the project Technological Scheme for Grant Aid for Small and Medium Enterprises, under PHARE – Economic and Social Cohesion, Financial Memorandum 2001. The total amount of the allocated aid for the projects 3 435 701 euro /including 2 576 775 under PHARE and 858 925 co-financing by the state budget/, and in particular the funds under the contract with Zahara LTD are 100 672 euro, including 50 000 euro under PHARE and national co-financing. The pastry company project is for buying and installment of equipment and for staff training. In consequence of those improvements, it is expected that the production costs will be reduced, the volume of production and the sale revenues will be increased, new job positions will be opened up, etc. After the opening ceremony at the new workshop of Zahara LTD, Minister Valentin Cerovski will attend the Vocational High School of Construction, Architecture and Geodesy in Stara Zagora, and will meet and talk with teachers and school leavers. A PHARE project is developed in the school for improving vocational education and training in the major geodesy, as this year is the first graduation of 13th- grade students majoring in geodesy. On 22 May 2004 the high school – the former Vocational College of Construction – solemnly celebrated the 60th anniversary of its establishment. During his visit to Stara Zagora Minister Valentin Cerovski will be accompanied by the district governor Mrs. Maria Neikova, representatives of the municipal governing body, deputies from the region and other official guests. The ceremony at Zahara LTD will be performed at 11 o’clock, in the new workshop of the company, in the locality of Beshbunar near the town, and the meeting with the team of the High School of Construction will start at 12.30 in the school.
