On 17 June 2004, Thursday, at the Sheraton Hotel in Sofia, a seminar will be held on the topic of Drafting a Five-Year Strategic Plan and the Annual Business Plan for 2005 of the Cadaster Agency. The event is organized within the project of the World Bank for Cadaster and Property Register. The goal of the seminar is to present and discuss the opportunities of the future strategic development of the Cadaster Agency. The government of the Republic of Bulgaria has undertaken to implement a programme for modernization of the real estate sector aiming at the introduction of a unified system for real estate administration in the whole country and encompassing all kinds of real estate, which is the practice in the other European countries. The programme of the seminar includes presentations by leading experts from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States, who have participated in the processes of establishment and restructuring of cadaster agencies into organizations which are independent of the state budget. The seminar will also be attended by the Regional Development and Public Works Deputy Minister Mr. Savin Kovachev, as well as by experts from the World Bank.
