Ministry Of Regional Development and Public Works Forms Link Units for Decentralized Implementation of the EU

Ministry of regional development and public works will nominate 28 experts in Vidin, Rouse, Varna, Sofia, Plovdiv and Bourgas. They will be appointed on the free positions and will work in the link units for decentralized implementation of the Operative program for regional development which will be financed by the European Fund for regional development. The number of experts in each of the regional offices is expected to rise to 12 by the end of the year. The formation of the regional units is in relation with the improvement of the state administrative capacity for application of the Structure and Cohesion Fund as well as with the implementation of the assumed engagements and the Bulgarian negotiation position on Chapter 21 “Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments”. Governing body of the Operative program “Regional development” is Directorate General “Programming of Regional Development” in MRDPW. The Directorate will delegate certain functions and tasks to its departments formed in the centers of the areas for planning. The tasks of the units will be connected with the management of the priorities and measures and monitoring of the projects financed by the program. MRDPW is starting a competition this week for selection of experts who will work in the regional offices of the Directorate “Programming of Regional Development”. Candidates must have good command of English and hold a degree in Economics or Engineering. They will have to pass a written exam and an interview.
