Regional Development and Public Works Minister Valentin Tserovski will break ground today for a bridge over the Perperek River at Stremovo Village. Attending will be Deputy Minister Roumen Mitov, the Executive Director of the Executive Agency for Roads Pavel Dikovski, MP Remzi Osman and local officials. The project includes thorough reconstruction of 18 km of Road III-5071 between the municipalities of Kurdjali and Chernoochane and the Perperek bridge of 9 m, including 7 m of road surface and 1 meter sidewalk. Now vehicles cross the river where it is shallow and in winter and spring when the river swells, crossing over becomes impossible. Pedestrians use a rope bridge. This year the Roads Executive Agency ordered a 1989 project to be updating in keeping with the effective road construction standards. A tender was held under the Public Procurement Act and the Haskovo-based company AB won the contract. The project is worth lv. 1,059,000 which will come from the budget of the Road Executive Agency.
