The Euro-Mediterranean Programme (Euro-MED) 2021-2027 is a territorial cooperation programme of the European Union created as a continuation of the Interreg Euro-Mediterranean Transnational Cooperation Programme 2021-2027 (Interreg MED). For the new programme period, a decision was made to expand the programme territory with the addition of two new countries to the programme - the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as 3 additional Spanish regions: Castile-la-Mancha, Comunidad de Madrid and Extremadura.

The programme strengthens cooperation across Mediterranean borders. Projects, initiatives and policies related to climate change and the environment are supported, in line with the priorities and specific objectives set by the European Commission for Cohesion Policy.

The programme unites partners from 10 member states of the European Union (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain), as well as four countries supported by the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) – Albania, Montenegro forest, Republic of North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. A total of 69 NUTS 2 regions are participating. The Republic of Bulgaria participates with its entire territory in the programme.

The total budget of the programme for the period 2021-2027 amounts to nearly 294 million euros.
