I would like to assure you that for the last two years decisive steps have been taken for the real absorption of the money by the Euro funds and the project for rehabilitation of the international road Е79 – a part of Corridor № 4, in the section Vidin – Montana, is one positive example. This was announced by the Regional Development and Public Minister Valentin Cerovski after turning the symbolic first sod in the town of Dimovo, District of Vidin Е79, at the start of the works on the rehabilitation of the section Vidin – Montana from Road E79 which is a part of the programme Transit Roads 3, funded by ISPA /75%/ and by the state budget /25%/. During the last months the absorption of the ISPA funds has increased owing to the efforts of the Bulgarian authorities, remarked Mr. Giovanni Di Girolamo, Counsellor and Head of the PHARE and ISPA Department to the Delegation of the European Commission for Bulgaria. The ceremony was attended by the District Governors of Vidin and Montana Martin Donchev and Marian Tsvetanov, the NMSII deputies from Vidin Nina Chilova and Dr. Tsvetan Tsenkov, mayors from the region, citizens and other guests. Nowadays the modern infrastructure is obligatory, and the works on the project for rehabilitation of the section Vidin – Montana will also solve problems of the unemployment in the region, underlined the Mayor of the Municipality of Dimovo Todor Iliev. The project of Road E79 will contribute to development of the local economy, emphasized Mr. Di Girolamo. This project has been put off for 10 years now and it is a fact that it has succeeded to start owing to the efforts of the existing government, underlined the District Governor of Vidin Martin Donchev. The project will employ 100 people. The Labour Office in Vidin has contracted funds for training of the workers which is likely to start next week, added Mr. Donchev. The start of the rehabilitation of sections from first-class Road I-1 Vidin – Montana, the Contractor is the Austrian Company SHTRABAG, takes place simultaneously with the works on the other three lots from the programme Transit Roads 3 – improvement of the operational conditions of the first-class Road І-5 in the section Kazanlak – Stara Zagora, including the bypass road of Stara Zagora, sections from first-class Road І-6 Sliven – Burgas.
