Desislava Terzieva: The imparities between regions have deepened in the last 4 years

The imparities between the regions have deepened in the last 4 years, declared at a press conference at the District administration – Shumen the Minister of Regional Development Desislava Terzieva. Our government has assigned to itself the difficult task to reduce social and economy disproportions between the regions, she added. According to Terzieva the Public investment program of the government, amounting to BGN 500 million, is a step forward to revive the regions through investments in the infrastructure.

In Shumen region will be funded 14 projects for over BGN 14.8 million under the Public investment program, informed the Minister. The resources are allocated to 7 municipalities. Over BGN 8,4 million from the sum are intended for municipal roads. The largest investment in the region, amounting to BGN 3.5 million, is  the construction of a potable water treatment plant for the town of Shumen. 

With resources under “Transit roads V“program next month will start the rehabilitation of 6 km section of the road II-74 „Veliki Preslav – border with Targovishte district”, as well as of 24 km section of the road III-7304 „Smyadovo – Veliki Preslav”. The total value of the investments is BGN 14 million, declared Terzieva. In addition BGN 300 000, saved from the budget for winter maintenance of the roads, will be allocated to improve the condition of the section Vurbitsa – Rish.
